Getting ready to go to college can be challenging for all students, but for students with learning disabilities, there are added hurdles. With adequate preparation and support, students with LD can successfully move on to, and complete college.

Are You Ready to Go?

After graduating from high school, there are many choices to make about your future. If you choose to further your education – at a university, community college, or through technical training – LPLC is here to help you learn the tools you need to advocate for yourself.

Understanding How College is Different

In high school, you might have had an IEP (Individual Education Plan) or a 504 Accommodation Plan that allowed you to have extended time on tests, copies of the teacher's notes, or reduced homework. It's different at the college level. Your parents helped you work with the school before, but now it's up to YOU. Read more (PDF)
