Does your student need to improve his or her
printing legibility in:
• letter formation
• letter placement on
lines
• spacing correctly
between letters and words
In this class students will learn to incorporate simple, fun activities to
help them develop postural, arm, and hand control necessary for good pencil
control. The program will use Handwriting Without Tears, a proven success
for making legible and fluent handwriting an automatic skill. Students will
have the opportunity to try special tools, such as pencil grippers, slant boards, and adaptive paper to
increase comfort and legibility during writing.
Included is a 30 minute screening by an occupational therapist. The
screening inludes:
• handwriting sample
• fine motor
function
• observation of sensory needs
• visual/perceptual and visual/motor skills
• hand/arm/shoulder stability and strength
