A Lead Math Educational Specialist delivers research-based, individualized instruction to students who learn differently. Lead Math Educational Specialists are also responsible for developing math instructional guides and for training and mentoring other Educational Specialists to deliver math instruction aligned with LPLC’s math framework. The Lead Math Specialist is responsible for planning intervention sessions, documenting student progress, communicating with parents and school personnel, and maintaining computer skills necessary to complete Center tasks.
Applicants must hold at a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in education. A Master’s degree in math or special education is preferred. Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years experience working with students with or at risk for learning disabilities and be current in approaches to individualized instruction and intervention in mathematics. Applicants must also have excellent oral/written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and basic computer skills.
