An Educational Specialist works directly with students who learn differently. The Specialist follows individually designed programs of instruction and utilizes research-proven instructional methods to teach the Center;s clients. The Specialist is also responsible for planning intervention sessions, documenting student progress, communicating with parents and school personnel, and maintaining computer skills necessary to complete Center tasks.
Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree, be current in approaches to individualized instruction in mathematics, reading,and/or writing.
Applicants must have 3 years special education teaching experience and an understanding of learning disabilities, excellent oral/written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and basic computer skills.
Hourly pay for instructional time: $22 for BA, $25 for MA.
Work hours: The part-time specialist must be available to work between 2 and 7 pm Monday through Friday. Actual work schedule depends upon the number of clients assigned and the client’s instructional program. The instructional hours per week can range from 2 to 14.
