Dr. Robert Sanchez spent 23 years in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before retiring in 2012. During his Army career, he served as a commanding officer, an intelligence officer, and Army Ranger deploying to Iraq, Afghanistan, and Kosovo. As a business consultant and advisor, Dr. Sanchez helped companies navigate challenges in change management, culture, innovation, and leadership. As an educator, Robert taught both graduate and undergraduate courses at the university level and for six summers taught cadets Military Tactics and Foundations of Leadership at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
An Idaho native, in his role as Vice President, Schools & Community Outreach at Idaho Business for Education, Dr. Sanchez works closely with local public school administrators and business leaders throughout Idaho in advancing IBE’s Schoolhouse strategy promoting early childhood literacy, student achievement, and increasing Idaho’s go-on rate.
Dr. Sanchez holds a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Northwest Nazarene University and an MBA in management and marketing from NNU. He also holds an M.A. in strategic studies from the Command and General Staff College of the U.S. Army at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
