This 15-hour course meets the requirements for the Idaho Literacy Achievement, and this course is worth one credit through Boise State University, Northwest Nazarene University, College of Southern Idaho, and Idaho State University.

In this self-paced, online course, you will deepen your understanding of dyslexia and learn evidence-based practices to help students develop pathways to learning. The material will be delivered through interactive content, researching topics through reading, video, and audio, and completing a series of auto-graded knowledge checks.
The course is divided into five sections: The Science of Reading, Dyslexia Research and Statistics, Factors Impacting Literacy, Screening and Assessment, and Features of Strong Instruction. The left-hand navigation bar makes it easy to move from lesson to lesson at your own pace. The lessons are organized sequentially; you must complete each lesson before moving on to the next one. Once you have completed all 9 lessons, you will take your final assessment. A grade of 80% or higher is required to pass this course. Credit for course completion is available through Boise State University, Northwest Nazarene University, and the College of Southern Idaho.
To be successful in the course, you will need a reliable internet connection and access to a device such as a laptop computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android-enabled phone. To navigate the course, use the left-hand navigation bar. The course will track your completion progress in each lesson; however, it will not save your exact location on a page or within a video. We suggest finding appropriate stopping points when working through course material.
