Academic Coaching
Structured support and strategies to help students overcome learning challenges, strengthen skills, and achieve academic success.
At Lee Pesky Learning Center, our Academic Coaching program helps students strengthen the executive functioning skills that are essential for success in school and beyond. Many learners with attention or learning challenges struggle with planning, organizing, managing time, or following through on academic tasks. Academic Coaching provides the structure, tools, and personalized support they need to overcome these challenges and build lifelong learning habits.
Through one-on-one coaching sessions, students learn how to:
- Strengthen time management and organizational skills
- Develop effective study routines and goal-setting strategies
- Improve self-advocacy, confidence, and independence
- Build habits for managing complex assignments and competing priorities
Our coaching process is collaborative and grounded in LPLC’s Self-Regulated Learner Framework, which fosters connectedness, resilience, and independence. Coaches begin by building trust, identifying goals, and creating SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timely) action plans tailored to each student’s strengths and challenges. Regular check-ins help refine strategies, celebrate progress, and ensure lasting success.
Academic Coaching is available for:
- Middle School Students: Developing self-advocacy, organization, and confidence
- High School Students: Balancing academics, activities, and independence
- College Students: Strengthening time management and study habits for long-term achievement
If you or your student struggles to stay organized, meet deadlines, or manage academic stress, Academic Coaching may be the right fit.
