Early Childhood Professional Development

At Lee Pesky Learning Center, we believe that great teaching starts with great support. Our early childhood professional development trainings are designed to equip educators with practical, evidence-based strategies that foster learning, curiosity, and confidence in every child. Whether you’re building foundational literacy skills, strengthening math instruction, or creating inclusive classroom environments, our courses provide hands-on tools, modeled activities, and individualized coaching to help educators turn knowledge into impact.

Each training below offers engaging, ready-to-use strategies for early educators and can be delivered in-person or as a live webinar. Building an Inclusive Early Learning Environment (6 hours)

This course provides early childhood educators with an overview of how to create a safe, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing environment with a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities. Evidence based tools are provided and activities are modeled.

Implementing Daily Literacy Routines (6 hours)

This course provides early childhood educators with knowledge, resources, and easy to implement literacy routines with the goal of building children’s critical literacy skills in a purposeful and playful manner. Evidence-based practices in oral language and vocabulary, phonological (sound) awareness, and print concepts are emphasized.

Every Child Ready for Math (6 hours)

This course empowers early educators with the necessary tools to provide rich and meaningful math experiences for preschoolers (3-5 years old), while also fostering language development. Participants will learn how to help PreK students develop important number concepts, counting skills, space and shape awareness, and measurement concepts through purposeful, engaging activities and games.

Every Child Ready to Learn (ECRL) Course (2 hours)

ECRL is designed to provide early childhood educators with knowledge resources, and activities that are easy to implement with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with the goal of building children’s critical literacy skills in a purposeful manner. This course focuses on three topics: language and vocabulary, phonological (sound) awareness, and print awareness.

Lee Pesky Learning Center Individualized Coaching (6 – 8 hours, online or in person)

  • Educators identify individualized goals aligned with course content
  • LPLC coach meets with early childhood educator monthly to:
    • Review goal(s)
    • Celebrate accomplishments
    • Provide constructive feedback
    • Conduct classroom observations
    • Model various techniques
