Lee Pesky Learning Center Announces Annual Fundraising Gala

Boise, Idaho — May 4, 2026 — Lee Pesky Learning Center (LPLC) is proud to announce its Annual Fundraising Gala, an evening dedicated to advancing education, supporting students, and celebrating the power of learning.

The highly anticipated event will bring together community leaders, educators, families and supporters for an inspiring evening focused on LPLC’s mission to help young people overcome learning challenges and reach their full potential.

Guests will enjoy an engaging program featuring keynote remarks from Angela Taylor, co-founder and president of the Taylor LEAD Foundation. Taylor is a nationally respected leadership strategist, executive coach and change agent. Through her work leading iWIN Sports, she elevates opportunities for girls and women in athletics. A former WNBA executive, she also serves as a women’s basketball analyst and podcast host.

Featured speaker Mackoy Turpen, “Mack,” director of development at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Idaho, will share powerful stories about the impact of LPLC’s work. Turpen is a Ph.D. student at Gonzaga University and a graduate with honors from the University of San Diego and George Mason University. He is also a Centennial High School alumnus and a graduate of Lee Pesky Learning Center. His work has focused on international human rights, restorative justice and nonprofit development.

“For nearly three decades, Lee Pesky Learning Center has been a cornerstone for learners across Idaho,” said Lindy Crawford, LPLC executive director. “This event not only celebrates the progress we’ve made, but also fuels the critical work ahead—ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.”

Proceeds from the evening will directly support LPLC’s programs, including educational assessments, targeted interventions, professional development for educators and research-driven solutions that improve learning outcomes.
